I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space with the air, like I don't care

It's been raining heavily the past few days, and yesterday was not an exception. I went to take the bus a bit earlier to work. I'd agreed to come talk to Kiwi who was working, before going to work myself. I was wearing my wellies, raincoat and shielded myself with an umbrella. When the bus came, it turned out that my bus card that I thought would last me until today actually only lasted to yesterday morning. I shrugged, told the bus driver to let me off then, because I hadn't any money, only a card. He asked me where I was going, and I told him. He was kind enough to let it pass. My plan had been to walk to the mall and pay for another month on my bus card. But in hindsight, the mall was closing just when I stepped onto the bus. So I was very lucky. I mean, there would be a solution. But nevertheless, an act of kindness goes a long way. It meant I started my day (technically late evening) with a smile, though the start of my shift was slightly chaotic. Though I had dreaded these two night shifts, they went quite alright. To be fair, regardless of where I've got a night shift, I always dread them. It's just the thought of something happening, and less people around to help. And when it's quiet, you're basically waiting until the clock turns 6 am, so the busy day can start. And everything like blood tests, antibiotics, drains, etcetera, needs or should be done within the time people who work the day shift arrives. It's stressful. My skin has not liked this, and it's acting out a bit. I've got today off, then I have an evening shift tomorrow at my own section/division/whatever. I am honestly knackered, because this is around the time where I've been sleeping for the past two days. And I've only slept for three hours when I got home today. I was awoken by my bladder, and then I couldn't fall back to sleep. So now I'm just going to avoid sleep as long as I can, so I can get back on my normal circadian rhythm. The cards I made is in the same fashion, as you probably can see. I painted them on Wednesday, before my night shift, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. They've now been put into envelopes and stored in one of my boxes. I was a bit early with the cards. However, as a rule for myself I always try to do whatever creative thing I want to do when an idea strikes me. Because it's fleeting for me. And the next day the will to do it is probably gone. So when I wanted to make cards, I made damn sure I made cards. Plus this means I won't have to stress about when that time comes around. I've just watched "Stevie Wonder Carpool Karaoke" on The late late show with James Corden. It is absolutely brilliant, and it's surprising how many songs of his I know. Also it made me cry, which might have been because I'm dead tired and more susceptible to emotional rollercoasters. When watching the video, I found myself smiling a lot. And I think that's because Stevie Wonder himself is such a joy. He gives out a lot of happy vibes, and that's the kind of people I like. One of my patients was a bit frustrated yesterday, and did a bit of complaining. I told her she was right to be frustrated, and gave her an explanation to why things had gone the way they did. This morning she said "I'm sorry for my complaining yesterday. I was never mad at you, I was just frustrated and I'm sorry I took it out on you. You've only been nice, and you're always so happy". Although I spend a lot of time taking crap from patients, I don't normally get angry because I know they're frustrated over things that's not necessarily my fault. Taking your anger out on someone else is a common defence mechanism. It's not always you get an apology either, because not all realise what they're doing. Anyway, she said I was a happy person, and I thought "great! this is what I want to radiate; happiness". Happy vibes give happy times, I think.

clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Gah, I am absolutely shattered. My legs are barely in function. I'm usually fine after having a day-shift after an evening-shift, but I think adding that to the Pharrell Williams concert I attended on Sunday-- it's not strange my legs are nearly dead. Ale and I woke up a bit later than the previous day, and we watched X Factor UK in the morning because she's a good friend and indulges my wishes sometimes. We didn't leave the house until 3:00 pm, maybe. We took the tram to Grünerløkka, where we chilled for a few hours. We had a slice of cake each. Ale had carrot cake, whilst I had chocolate cake. We were sat outside in the nice weather, so we spent some time "people watching". It's always interesting, imagining how random people are. I introduced Ale to Mathallen, and she convinced me to eat sushi. Had avocado on mine, so, like, it appears that as long as something has got avocado in it, it's alright. Well, that's not entirely true. Anyway, the sushi was good, and I hadn't really expected else because we were at Mathallen, and I would expect the food to be good. We spoke English to a man who apparently spoke Norwegian. But hey, he started it, I think? I bought some organic tea that I've tasted at Lynx's place. Didn't really think about the fact that I was going to a concert later, did I? Oh well, my little bag didn't stop me from dancing along to Pharrell's songs. We were at the concert arena around 6:40 pm, and it looked a bit sparse with people. Our first action, once we had found our way in the darkness (it was really dark inside for some reason, and very steep steps by the entrance. It's a wonder no one fell), was to buy some beer. It went down rather quickly, though I can't say I'm good at drinking slowly. Because we were early, we got quite good spots, and it wasn't too long until Foxes came on stage. I've heard about Foxes through listening to the Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw. I'm not sure if her music is very popular in Europe, but I realised I had heard about four or five of the songs she performed. Ale had only heard one, I think. I was very surprised by that, but it's not strange if she's not very popular outside of the UK. Clarity, I think most people have heard. But then there's also Holding Onto Heaven, Let Go For Tonight, Glorious. You should definitely give her a shot. I personally think she's really good live, though I don't think we were her kind of crowd. I am really glad I got to see her live though. She sort of reminds me of Zooey Deschanel's character in Yes Man when she's dancing. I told Ale that I think Foxes is a bit of a strange soul. After she had done her set there was quite a bit of time of waiting. Ale and I had initially managed to get quite good spots with space. But then we had someone tapping on our shoulders, saying that we should move forward a bit, because there were people behind them trying to get our spots. I really did appreciate that, and I knew what she meant, because there was a girl on my side, slowly trying to get me to move by dancing and bumping into me. Can't say I appreciate obnoxious people like that, but we held onto our spots. Once Pharrell was on stage, everyone started cheering. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience of this concert, because I didn't think I'd enjoy it quite as much as I did. I hadn't listened to his album in preparation of the concert, and I had only heard two songs from his new album. So I was a bit anxious about how I'd get on, but goodness gracious-- he had such great dancers. I was absolutely mesmerized by them, thought they were fierce. And they were all different ethnicity, so that was really nice. One of the things I enjoyed the most about the concert, was how Pharrell constantly praised his dancers, his singers, his band, and just everyone- because he knows that there wouldn't be a show without them. And he also speaks so much about the power of women, positivity, and important things. It feels a bit like listening to him preach sometimes, and I don't mind listening. I was also surprised to realise that I recognised more than two songs, and it was ace when they started singing Hot In Here, Drop It Like It's Hot, Hollaback Girl, Milkshake, and others. My favourite was probably when he started singing Get Lucky, because the whole crowd started shouting the lyrics. What's also very important for me to enjoy a concert, is that the artists are enjoying performing. I don't know if everyone thinks about that, but it makes me smile when I see them smile. The concert ended with Happy, and screams and shouts and praise for Pharrell and all of his crew. When Ale and I were walking out of the venue a guy asked us if we were happy, and we answered yes. I asked him back, and he said something like "yes, now that you're here". Cheesy, but I've heard cheesier. He told us that we were "beautiful", and I told him the same back. From the subject of Pharrell to the subject sexism-- have you ever been aware of the fact that we learn to internalise that girls/women are beautiful, and boys/men are handsome? We've grown up learning to associate specific adjectives with men/women. I very rarely use the word "handsome" for a guy. I actually use "pretty", which in our society is also associated with women. But yeah, the point is, you should be more aware of sexism in the everyday life. Right, I must go to bed. Didn't really do any reading today, which means I've not opened a book since Friday. Which means I have to read loads tomorrow to catch up. Bah. Oh well, I've sort of got the day off tomorrow, and then I have the whole weekend off as well, so it's going to be fine.

clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

Look at these stupid fools (sigh). Niall had arranged a football match yesterday for charity. And he had Louis, Liam and Harry from his band to play at the game. Along with other players like James Corden (comedian), Ronan Keating (artist), etcetera. The match was against Piers Morgan's team (he's that guy from Britain's Got Talent). In the end #TeamNiall lost, but I don't think anyone (very few) cared. Regardless of the winner of the footie game (even if it would have been #TeamNiall), the real winner was the charity. One of the highlights of yesterday was Harry's "climb to the top". Harry went from being in charge of the kits, to be an assistant manager, to one of the players, and then to the team captain. He was the most unlikely to score, and yet he did. It was very amusing, because at the start of the game, everyone (on my Tumblr dashboard) was taking the mick out of him, like this. And at the end of the game everyone was like "alright, I guess we can't really tease him any more .. not the next 24 hours anyway". The game lead to this (first and third picture) moment, and my dashboard has been filled with Niall and Harry (these pictures especially) since yesterday. It's made my last 24 hours because I love Narry (Niall and Harry). I can't even say how many times I've seen this hug from different angles. Also, can I just point out how the past four days have been all about Niall (in the 1D fandom). It's been an overload of emotions and I've spent a lot of time between crying, smiling and squealing. This morning my dad and I drove into town to find the Chinese Embassy. It took us ages before we found it, thanks to the nicest lady every. I hope she gets a lot of good karma. At least the trip let me see a lot of nice houses. Now I'll probably go look at houses on Internet. It's one of my favourite past times. When I got home after the trip into town, I had a lovely chat with Ale, which was very nice. Some time this summer she's coming for a visit, so that's nice. After our chat, I went to make myself some tea, but instead I cleaned up the whole living room. Just in time for my mum to get home. And then I drank some tea. One of the things I struggle with when it's holiday, or when I've just got a lot of time on my hands, is to relax. Because I always go around thinking I should do that and that-- it feels like I should always be doing something. I thought of this the other day, and I realised that I have to let myself relax. I should have some time for myself being bored. Goodness knows how much I'll probably miss all of this spare time when I start working. Or when I start school again. I do have a few errands I was supposed to today, though. I'll just postpone it to tomorrow, because I really don't want to leave the house. Anyway, have a really nice Tuesday?? I've lost the overview of which day is which, ha.
