I sort of love it whenever Harry and Niall hang out outside the band. "I keep my arms wide open". Is that so Harry? So whenever Niall comes running towards you, you keep your arms wide open? And looooook, he's on Harry's shoulders too. They're playing that wrestling game where you are supposed to push the opponents in the water. And as it turns out, Narry won (proof here). Don't Let Me Go by Harry has been on repeat most of the day. And it's horrible because now I only associate the song with Narry because of someone on my Tumblr. About the Internet-- I really find it strange that because of the Internet I know that Niall and Harry is at the pool at the other end of the world. Or they might have left now, because these pictures were taken one hour ago. I've spent the most of the day reading, although not only books. But also fan fiction. And then I actually cooked, which is a very rare thing. Except now I've sort of done it a lot lately? It didn't get burnt, nor did I toss a whole load of salt in it, so I'd say the results were pretty good. I have started reading The Mystery of Mercy Close too, but it's in Norwegian. And it's a bit annoying, because it feels unnatural to me. Not the part about it being Norwegian-- this is 1/3 Norwegian books I'm reading this summer. But the part where Marian Keyes is Irish and most likely uses Irish words and sayings that cannot be translated. And it just really irks me, and makes me wonder whether I should just go buy the English version. The book is coming along very Marian-ish. I'm a bit surprised, because I think she's making Helen Walsh a lot like herself. It somewhat reminds me of Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married, which is a great thing, because that's my favorite book of Marian Keyes. I sort of hope Marian Keyes will make a book for "Mama Walsh" too, because she is absolutely hilarious. I'm taking a break from reading because I really want to find a nice moisturizer. It's what I'm going to dedicate my Friday night to-- find a proper nice moisturizer. Whereas my friends are getting high (on life) and going out clubbing later (Sugar and Kiwi). My horoscope says: "Your need for pleasure is heightened these days as delicious Venus travels through your sign. However, pursuing your desires doesn't come without a price". Very vague, but I suspect it's got something with the kilo-gangs suggestions of making a fake ID in order to get into clubs. Yeah, not happening. It's only a month till' I'm twenty, which is something I actually look forward to. I've hated aging the last few years, because it's only celebrating the lost time of my life (well, not really, but, yes). Oh, my broseph came home at Wednesday whilst I was cleaning out my other closet that I only use to stock everything I don't use. I found a lot of my favorite tee's. I am a tee kinda girl. And by tee, I mean t-shirt. Anyway, I was standing at a chair and folding clothes, and then I heard someone coming up the stairs who was not my mum, because apparently I've memorized the sounds of my family members walking up the stairs. My sister was in her room, so I knew it wasn't her either. My dad was at work, so it wasn't him. It was my brother, who never seems to tell us when he's coming home. However, this time he actually sent my younger sister a text message, but she had failed to tell me. And then she told me she had informed our dad and mum. It's like I never get to know anything in this family-- like they're withholding information from me. Alright, I think I'm hanging out with Oyster tomorrow, who by the way aced her oral examination. I'm a proud best friend. But right now I'm going to continue my search for the perfect moisturizer.

"I promised one day that I’d bring you back a star. I caught one and it burned a hole in my hand. Seems like these days I watch you from afar, just trying to make you understand. I’ll keep my eyes wide open".
Internet moves really quickly, did you know that? All of the sudden there was supposedly a song by Harry Styles himself on Tumblr. It's called Don't Let Me Go. And before listening to it, I obviously didn't believe it. But then I listened to it, and it sounded very much like the lad himself. So I went back and listened to it several times, and I just couldn't see how it wasn't Harry. And then the apparent song writer that was linked to the song wrote on his Twitter: "Wow! Thanks for all the nice tweets about the song. Harry did most of the words I did the music. X", which means it's bloody true. And that Harry wrote most of the song? I don't find it the best song musically, but I would probably listen to the song nevertheless, because it gives me a bit of The Smiths -vibe. Lyrically; it's really lovely-- I quite love the lyrics. Like, I really love: "This bed was never made for two", "Don’t let me go cause I’m tired of sleeping alone" and the lyrics in the title of this blogpost. There is no doubt this will spark new rumors about One Direction splitting up, which people it'll happen eventually. But unless SYCO decides that they don't want One Direction anymore, it's very unlikely in the near future considering they've got another year of touring next year. I look forward to the future. (As I've written this "Don't Let Me Go", "#LOUISDONTLETHIMGO" and "Sam Mccarthy" are trending topics worldwide on Twitter. Some people are still convinced Louis and Harry is a thing .. well, some people are stupid)

used to do the surgery for girls in the eighties but gravity always wins
I once had this teacher who told us to read an article about poverty and begging. After we were all done, she asked us what we did whenever we saw beggars. Did we give them money? Did we walk past them? Did we acknowledge them? Most said they walked past with the arguments that they'll only spend money on drugs and whatnot. This teacher was not one of my favorites-- I even hated her at times. Because you can have so much knowledge you could outrun the greatest teachers in the world, but knowledge only won't make you a great teacher. Nevertheless, it's this moment I think I remember the most of all her classes, when I gained more respect for her (sadly this was one of her last classes). Her questions were mostly meant as rhetorical questions (a figure of speech in the form of a question that is asked in order to make a point). And she told us to look at people's faces at the article. Not to ignore them and shut them out of our eyesight. What she wanted to get across to us that day was the message to be human. Until today I'd forgotten about this. On my list of things to do this summer, I wrote "read all the nursing magazines". Because I'm a member of NSF (Norske Sykepleie Forbund), I get monthly magazines that issues important problems and questions, medical studies, and more. I've not read through any of these because of lack of time, but mostly pure laziness. But today I sat down in the living room, and I started going through them. I've not read everything, and I have not gone through them all just yet. But I came across this article, which is the reason for why I remembered my teacher who told us to be human, and why I am writing this now. It issues the problems of poverty. Of asylum seekers, beggars, prostitution, etc. And the article is made to try get an impression from you. It's not neutral, it's not Switzerland. And it writes thing like: "We have a poor tendency in Norway to place things we do not like far out of sight". But it is points like these that makes a discussion, that makes attention. Tholens, the author of the article wrote: "It is embarrassing that we no longer stand the sight of those who are less successful than ourselves. We might be free from the suffering of others, but risk inflicting ignorance upon ourselves". It's a response to our government wanting to get rid of the beggars, or maybe a response to how the government manage these problems in general. I felt so incredibly stuck by that statement. Obviously it's not entirely true for everyone, but we sort of do want to remove the beggars out of sight, so we won't have to deal with them in our everyday life. Tell me: when you walk past beggars, do you see them? Do you look at their faces? Are you human? Think about it. On my way to school today I walked past a group of what I'm guessing are homeless people playing Ai Se Eu Te Pego. And it sort of made my day-- they definitely got a grin stretched wide and a laugh from me. And I do very much love the people who plays instruments in Oslo's streets. It's one of the reasons why I do love Oslo. But I don't love the beggars, and I walk by without reading their signs. I don't acknowledge them. And for the longest time my excuse has been that it's depressing. That I don't like being aware of things like poverty because it makes me depressed. Do you know what the antonym of research is? Ignorance. And they say ignorance is bliss. And that's how I've lived my life for the last years. For my whole life maybe. But reading this article has opened my mind, perhaps triggered me. It has made me realise that I've been ignorant, and made stupid choices. I'm not going to say that because of this article I'm going to spread money to beggars and sit down and try to have a chat. I'm most likely not going to do that. I'm not going to become a saint. But I'm not going to avoid reading news anymore. I'm not going to inflict ignorance upon myself as I have been for so long. And I will try to be human. To let myself feel sad for other unfortunate people, and to think of the person sitting there on the street. The article is in Norwegian and it's called "Ut av synsfeltet" by Barth Tholens. You can read it, or not. Maybe you have already. It's up to you, really. I never usually discuss serious things like these-- and this is in fact politics, which I've also tried avoiding as much as I can. And hey, I'm not saying that we should all be sympathetic and empathetic about poor people and not make any restrictions or laws concerning how to remove these issues. That's not it. The point is as my teacher nicely put it: be human.

I lay in tears in bed all night alone without you by my side
The past days I've woken up and eaten bread with ham and cheese whilst drinking a cup of tea. Preferably outside. And it's been lovely and peaceful, and it gives me a bit of time to think. I did the same today, except I sat inside and I read a fan fiction I started on yesterday. And it was completely peaceful, and I thought to myself that this is what I'll remember summer as next year. I'll remember silent mornings with tea. I was almost done with reading the fan fiction (two pages from being finished), when I heard this bang in the window. So I looked up, and what do I see? Not a shattered window or anything-- no, it was a bloody bird!! (it wasn't bloody, but I meant bloody as in the curse ala "bloody hell"). It was trying to get outside by flying out the window. Except the windows were all closed, and the bird didn't understand that, so it continued trying to fly through the window. And each time it didn't work, and I panicked. Because it was just continuing all the time, and I thought it would kill itself by trying, but it was probably so nervous and frightened, that this was it's only choice. So I ran upstairs to alarm my sister, and thank god for her- she came downstairs and suggested we'd use a blanket to capture it inside and let it free outside. I murmured "okay", because I was absolutely terrified. But then it flew across the living room and tried to fly out the other windows, which were also closed. So I figured I'd open the windows it previously tried getting out of, whilst my sister did whatever she did. I didn't really know what she was doing, because there were bird shit everywhere (by everywhere I mean on the floor, on the pillow, on the sofa, in the window-- everywhere). And I was so terrified, and scared of the prospect of having to lift a dead bird. I really strongly dislike dead animals. I've been to one bird funeral in my life. I think this is a rather rare thing to do, but in my childhood I've also buried a mouse, and maybe something more, but that's all I can remember. Someone had found a dead bird, so we went to this place we used to hang out, dug up some mold, and buried it. If I'm not completely imagining it, I think we had a moment of silence. Anyway-- the prospect of doing this- well, I really didn't want to do it. So my heart was thumping really hard, and I was nearly crying because I was so sure it would either die or attack my head in fright. But it did neither. At last my sister managed to chase it, so it went out one of the windows I'd opened. I was out of the living room then, because I was terrified. But once it was gone my sister announced "oh, it shat here too". And then she left me to do the cleaning, which was almost as terrifying as the whole situation. My mum just shrugged as I told her, and I was just about to go clean up the mess, when she stopped me. "Remember to wear gloves!". And I was like, thanks family. I've just been traumatized, nice to know you care. The thing about cleaning wasn't about the bird shit-- that was actually alright. But it was the feathers lying around in the living room. I think I'm going to have nightmares about birds for days now. Anyway, yesterday was lovely. The weather was nice, though I'd previously dreamed about rain pouring down. It's just that I figured since every time I've wanted to go to the park and have a BBQ, it's been cancelled. But it wasn't yesterday, and though we had a few minor difficulties, we did manage to set up the BBQ. We left due to the windy weather, and we went through Vigelandsparken to look at all the sculptures. I've not actually been to see the sculptures in years. I've only been in the park the last times I've been in Frognerparken. So it was nice to be a bit tourist-y and take pictures of the famous sculptures (and the kilo-gang). I also did a Vine of Kiwi, which I found genius, but my sister said it was stupid. Stupid sisters that kills your excitement. Speaking of Kiwi; she sent me a snap yesterday which said I had inspired her to get a library card. I answered something like "yay" and that I've had mine for ten years. Which, I realised is a bloody long time. I just really enjoy going through a library and look at all the books, and the smell of old books. As a nurse-student, I should probably be a bit more worried about the hygienic aspect, but to be honest; I don't give much shit about it. I'll always love the smell of old books, when there is a splotch of spilt coffee on one of the pages, when someone has folded the top of the side. It's nice to see that a book I love has been loved by someone else too. Speaking of books, when I was reading The Fault In Our Stars I got really confused. Because I caught myself in actually trying to swipe the page, like you do on your iPhone. And I just had a really big chuckle at myself, because wow, have I really spent that much time reading on my iPhone? Anyway, I usually spend a huge amount of time watching make-up tutorials on Youtube, and I don't see the point in it when I don't ever try one of the tutorials. I guess it's a bit like watching food programs on the telly just for the fun of it. I recently watched a video about skincare via The Pixiwoos. The Pixiwoos consist of Sam and Nic, who are sisters and both makeup artists. On their own channel they do makeup tutorials on Youtube. To the point-- they did a video about skincare with a professional, and it really drew me in. I think you all should watch it. She has these great points about skin care "you only get one face, so why mess with it?". And skincare I actually do care about very much. And I find it so interesting. I was on Vine the other week, and I'm following Lewis Watson (that singer I discovered via 8tracks, who has a Youtube channel), and he did a short bit of All I Want by Kodaline, and it made me fall in love with the song again. I've listened to it 210 times on iTunes, and it's number 7 of my 25 most played songs. It's the acoustic version though, because I find the main singers voice so incredibly pure and shattering. I love that. My sister is making pasta in awhile, and that makes me really happy, because I was thinking about pasta last night. I just really love pasta. Alright, have a lovely Wednesday!

to the moon and back
When Ellie Kendall tragically loses her husband she feels her life is over. But eventually she's ready for a new start - at work, that is. She doesn't need a new man when she has a certain secret visitor to keep her company.. Zack McLaren seems to have it all, but the girl he can't stop thinking about won't give him a second glance. If only she'd pay him the same attention she lavishes on his dog. Moving to North London, Ellie meets neighbour Roo who has a secret of her own. Can the girls sort out their lives? Guilt is a powerful emotion, but a lot can happen in a year in Primrose Hill ...
I went through the shelve I usually go through at the library, and I found this book. And I thought "well, might as well" (Who has "Might as well" tattooed on their body? 10 points to the one who guesses). I thought I had read a book by Jill Mansell before, but I was wrong. It was another chick-lit author. According to Wikipedia (yes-- Wikipedia), a chick lit is a "[...] genre fiction which addresses issues of modern womanhood, often humorously and lightheartedly". It's been a while since I last read a proper chick lit, so I figured I'd give this a go. And well, the start was really promising. The plot did remind me of Anybody Out There by Marian Keyes and PS: I Love You by Cecilia Ahern (I need to read the latter again, because it's been absolutely ages)-- the part about losing a husband. But this is entirely different, it's not as detailed in how to survive such a big loss. It's more about the acceptance and recovery part (although the whole process can be seen as recovering). It is very funny, and I found it very appealing to me. I'm very fond of this particular sentence: "She was single, Elllie had discovered, but currently was seeing someone called Niall who looked a bit like Simon Cowell and was brilliant in bed". I just-- is this a coincidence? Well, I certainly had a good laugh at that one. The thing about this book, is that it is very hilarious. And it's been a long while since I've read something so happy and light. I'm very glad I read this book, although I don't think it's something I'll remember in the future. I'm not going to lie and tell you that this book blew my mind. And I found the ending a bit disappointing, because it was rather obvious. Nevertheless, if you want something easy and funny to read, I'll have to recommend it. I'm just going to leave you with another quote, because I think it sort of speaks for the novel: "Yesterday as she'd been in the process of moving out, she'd seen a used condom lying on the ground by the front gate. Instead of being repulsed, her initial response had been relief that someone had at least bothered to use one".
